ABOUT THE BUILD A PLAYER TRAINING CAMP

The Build A Player Basketball Training Camp is composed of on and off court sessions, game strategies, skill development, practice planning and leadership.

Participants of all levels can attend to learn from the best, network and improve as players to make an impact in their basketball journey. Whether you are a player of elite level talent or beginner, these professional development training sessions are implantable for all teams and programs.

The training camp is comprised of a wide range of coaches, including those who teach at the high school, collegiate and professional basketball levels. Elite skills and drills are led by coaches from different areas of the game. Training sessions feature a variety of teaching styles, including player demonstrations, on-court basketball instruction, off-court coaching and skill training.

Coaches

Coach Rashaun Broadus

NBA Player Development Coach Rashaun Broadus is a native to the island who pursued his talent in basketball at every level. Venturing from college basketball to pro ball in various foreign countries and now at his peak of NBA experiences with the Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies and Toronto Raptors, Broadus has been recognized for his strategic skills and drills training in addition to his plethora of basketball knowledge, hard work ethic and leadership. Through phenomenal playing experience and career achievements, Broadus has earned his title as a NBA Player Development Coach implementing technical strategies, optimal player performance and team facilitation among professional basketball players throughout the country. Pursuing his passion in basketball led Broadus to promote his talents and implement his training skills amongst our youth.

Coach Chad Townsend

Currently, as the head coach for a Varsity Basketball High School team in Hawaii, Coach Chad Townsend has over a decade of basketball experience.  Coach Chad is also active as the head coach for the Posse Basketball Club implementing player development skills among local teen boys and girls of the island.

Coach Nathaniel Donnell

Currently the Head Coach for the Nanakuli High School Basketball Team, Coach Nate Donnell led the team to their first D1 appearance in 47 years during the Hawaii State Tournament. As a member of the 1999 All State Basketball Team of Hawaii, Coach Nate has pursued his passion for the game as a founder and director of We Rise Club and We Rise Elite Travel Team. Dedicated to basketball with decades of experience, Coach Nate implements effective strategies toward building valuable athletes.

Coach Tavares Silver

Currently the owner and lead trainer at Dreams Hoops Elite Inc and co-owner of Elite Artistry Collaborations, Coach Tavares Silver has over 14 years of basketball experience. As a former ABA and PBL Semi-Professional Basketball Player for the Honolulu Pegasus and Mauka Boars, Coach Silver has developed proficient skills to train school grade to professional athletes. Additionally, as a former High School Basketball Coach for Damien Memorial High School and Maryknoll High School in Honolulu, Hawaii Coach Silver has applied his training as a Head Coach for Dream Hoops Elite Inc AAU Club and Travel Team.

Coach Jacob Milare

Coach Jacob of the NoKaOi Basketball Academy has assisted in the success of basketball players throughout the island. Currently a coach for the We Rise Elite, a top ranking Boys AAU Program in Hawaii, Coach Jacob continues to help prepare basketball players to reach their ultimate goal. Active in a premier grassroots program, known as the Adidas Show Circuit, Coach Jacob partakes in a platform that houses elite basketball events and programs to initiate playing at the next level. Through the exclusive Adidas basketball circuit, Coach Jacob connects with sponsored programs enabling teen basketball players to compete against one another in multiple NCAA Certified live period events and camps, furthermore, creating the opportunity for elite student-athletes to showcase their skill sets and talent in front of hundreds of D1 college coaches, national media and NBA scouts.

Coach Wiande Kher

As a former basketball player for the elite Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta, Coach Wiande Kher competed through the renowned U Sports Association. Passionate about basketball, Coach Kher has developed coaching techniques from a unique standpoint to build a player.

Coach Jannet Kay

Experienced in athletics and leadership with a medical background as an officer in the Army Medical Department, Dr. Jannet Kay specializes in Human Nutrition and Kinesiology with an emphasis on Athletics, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences. As a Director of the Build A Player Organization, she volunteers her time to assist in giving back to the community and positively impacting our future generations.

Coach Zion Milare

Lead Assistant

An inspiration to our youth, Coach Zion Milare is dedicated to his ambitions in basketball and has earned acceptance to the mainland, on a full ride basketball scholarship, where he will train and compete at the collegiate level. Milare is dedicated to selfless service and motivated to assist our youth into becoming the best athlete.

Faq

– No, there are no refunds however in the case you must cancel, you can always apply your registration fee toward the next training camp, restrictions apply.

– No, there are no discounts as this is an elite basketball training camp with limited availability, all participants are based on a first come first served basis, following participants will be waitlisted.

– It is recommended that you stay for the lunch break as it is only 30 minutes. If you have an emergency or issues that may need to be addressed, this 30 minute window is a flexible time frame however, doors may be closed with no reentry as the camp resumes.

– Yes! All Build A Player Basketball training camps are coed and based on grade and age group levels.

– Build A Player Basketball training camp is divided into two age groups, middle school aged participants (ages 10 to 14 based on birthdate) and high school aged participants (ages 14 to 17 based on birthdate).

– No. The Build A Player Basketball Training Camp is closed to the public.
